LPN to ADN: How to Apply

If you are a new student to LLCC, visit our Earning a Credit Degree or Certificate page first to learn more about these general steps to enrollment.

If you are a current or returning student, proceed to the next steps listed below.

Be aware of the LPN to ADN transition program application dates and deadlines. Please note that there are designated application windows to apply.

Applications for the fall admission cycle are accepted the first Monday in November through the last Thursday in May. Applications for the spring admission cycle are accepted the first Monday in June through the last Friday in October. No late applications are accepted.

Please carefully review and be familiar with the following items.

All items below must be completed in order to apply to the program by the designated application deadline. It is the student’s responsibility to notify the Student Success Office when requirements have been met and to apply by the application deadline.

Candidates are chosen based upon a selective admission process. Please refer to the Selective Admission Procedures in step 2b below for additional information regarding how points are awarded.

Please note that these requirements are subject to change at any time.

  • Submit high school transcripts with proof of graduation or GED certificate to LLCC Admission/Records/Registration.
  • TEAS score of Basic or higher (TEAS scores are valid for 5 years and may be accepted from any location offering the TEAS testing).

Residency criteria

Chapter 112, Section 103-17, of the Illinois Public Community College Act requires that whenever enrollment in a program must be restricted because of space limitations, a college must give preference to district residents. Consequently, admission to Health Professions programs for students who live outside of LLCC District #526 vary per program based on space available and qualified applicant pools.

Please carefully review and be familiar with the following items.

Qualified applicants (those who have met all admission criteria from the admission requirements listed above) will be placed in rank order based on the number of points received in the evaluation. Applicants’ points will be evaluated at the time of application only; point total will not be recalculated once the application is submitted.

Applicants with the same number of points will be selected at random for available seats. It is imperative for the applicant to maintain accurate contact information through the Office of Admission and Registration. If all seats are filled for the current admissions cycle, students who wish to re-apply must meet with a nursing student success advisor to complete an application. It is the responsibility of the applicant to inform the student success advisor of any changes that could increase awarded points.
