Employment and education:
Joey graduated from LLCC with her Associate in Science followed by her bachelor’s degree in business administration. She is currently the IT administrator at a locally owned and operated financial institution. In Joey’s own words, “Love my career choice. I have been at the organization for over 20 years learning different aspects. Have been fortunate to work with some amazing people over the years. Launching different products and services from the idea to implementation stage has given me such a wonderful knowledge of how people tick. Troubleshooting is a large part of my current job. It’s great to have the “aha” moment. I love working with large and small groups. No two days are the same and that is the best aspect of my position.”
How has Lincoln Land Community College impacted your life?
Most people are doctors with a lot of post doctoral work given the same amount of time in college. LLCC gave me breathing room to figure out what I wanted to do without the paralyzing debt accumulated from a private school.
What is your greatest accomplishment(s)?
My undergraduate degree. My parents did not finish college. They gave me the opportunity they did not have.
Was there a professor, advisor, staff member or fellow student who made an impression on you or helped you when you were here at LLCC?
Jan Terry. She was fantastic. Jan was always willing to help and had such a positive attitude. I loved speaking and working with her.
What did you like about LLCC or what is your favorite LLCC memory?
Over the years I have watched the changes at LLCC. The campus has completely changed. Their outreach has become more robust. Makes me proud to be a Logger!
