Ready to learn more? Make an appointment with Lynn Giles-Harris in the LLCC Career Center.
The Cooperative Work Experience (CO-OP) is a program that allows LLCC students to earn college credit while gaining work experience for paid or unpaid internships, or for paid employment. CO-OP participants are responsible for identifying, applying, interviewing and obtaining their own job or internship placements.
To be eligible for CO-OP, students must have completed 12 college credits. Past participants have benefited greatly from the CO-OP Work Experience Program as they have developed and achieved learning objectives that have helped to prepare them for future career opportunities.
During your CO-OP and internship experience, you will:
- Be challenged to take on new work responsibilities or projects.
- Learn new and advanced skills to help you refine your professional abilities.
- Gain professional work experience that can set you apart from others in your career field.
- Explore career goals and reflect upon your progress towards meeting these goals.
- Network and learn from professional mentors who may be able to serve as references in the future.
- Build your resume and grow your professional network
- Earn academic credit toward degree completion.
