Students desiring to enroll in any course with established prerequisites in reading, English and/or mathematics will be assessed in the relevant subject area(s).
Composition I (EGL 101)-High school unweighted GPA of 2.7 or higher with transcript that reflects complete sophomore year or beyond, an ACT score of 18 or higher in the area of English or an SAT score of 477 or higher in the area of English/reading/writing (ERW).
Composition II (EGL 102)-Successful completion of Composition I (EGL 101) with a minimum grade of C, which must be completed prior to taking this course.
College Algebra (MAT 113)-High school unweighted GPA of 3.2 or higher with transcript that reflects complete sophomore year or beyond, and ACT score of 22 or higher in the area of mathematics or an SAT score of 530 or higher in the area of mathematics.
Trigonometry (MAT 120)-Completion of College Algebra (MAT 113) with a C or higher, an ACT score of 23 or higher in the area of mathematics or an SAT score of 560 or higher in the area of mathematics.
Calculus (MAT 131)-An ACT score of 25 or higher in the area of mathematics, or an SAT score of 600 or higher in the area of mathematics
Statistics (MAT 141)-High school unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher with transcript that reflects complete sophomore year or beyond, an ACT score of 21 or higher in the area of mathematics or an SAT score of 520 or higher in the area of mathematics.
Appropriate alternative test procedures can be arranged for any student with a documented physical or learning disability.
Students are allowed to retake one of the placement tests or a portion thereof on the recommendation of an LLCC academic advisor, counselor, outreach center executive director or department dean.
