SPRINGFIELD – Recent graduates of Lincoln Land Community College’s associate degree surgical technology program earned a 100% pass rate on their certification exam.  

The 100% pass rate has been achieved by program graduates for six years in a row.

Sixteen students are accepted to the program each fall semester, which will begin again in August. Information sessions are scheduled Aug. 11, Sept. 12 and Nov. 7 and may also be completed online. 

Surgical technologists are members of the surgical team during medical operations, preparing the operating room and assisting the surgeon. LLCC students get hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art operating room lab and gain skills needed to directly enter the workforce. 

In addition to the associate degree in surgical technology, LLCC offers a certificate of completion in central sterile service technician.
