SPRINGFIELD — The annual Giving Day event for Lincoln Land Community College is being held Friday, Nov. 15, when the community is helping advance the mission of the college by raising essential funds for student needs. Alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends of LLCC are encouraged to participate.

“Thanks to the generosity of our LLCC Foundation donors, we are able to change lives and open doors for so many students,” said Karen Sanders, vice president of advancement and LLCC Foundation Executive Director. “Today we are shining a light on the tremendous impact every donation makes. Every gift brings a student closer to achieving their dreams.”

Student recipients of the financial assistance are a diverse group of individuals committed to the value of an education and the opportunities it offers, most of whom continue their education at four-year universities or pursue careers.

LLCC student Eva Bassel, of Springfield, spoke to scholarship donors at a recent event. “Your support is not just about financial assistance; it’s the belief that students like me, taking unconventional yet purposeful paths, deserve the opportunity to achieve our dreams.”

LLCC Foundation scholarships are made possible by community businesses, organizations and individuals, in addition to the annual faculty and staff giving campaign.

“Gifts of all sizes are welcome and appreciated. The LLCC Foundation has a General Scholarship Fund and Emergency Fund among others that provide donors with options to help students,” added Sanders. “Visit llccfoundation.org and then click Donate to see the many ways to give.”

The LLCC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation providing financial support to educational programs and services of the college by assisting in increasing and enhancing the physical and cultural environment of the college to positively impact students, alumni and the community.
