Lincoln Land Community College honors African-American History Month during February with, “African Americans and Labor: The Impact.” Various events planned throughout the month will highlight the African-American influence on American labor and how free and unfree, skilled and unskilled, and vocational and voluntary all intersect with the collective experiences of African-American people.
The following event is free and open to the public and will be held in A. Lincoln Commons at LLCC’s Springfield campus, 5250 Shepherd Road. The LLCC African-American History Month Committee and LLCC Student Life are event co-sponsors.
Wednesday Feb. 26 – African-American Food and Vendor Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event features free samples of African-American food, displays on the wares of African-American entrepreneurs and music.
