Press contact: Kyla Kruse

SPRINGFIELD — Lincoln Land Community College will host information sessions on Monday, Feb. 24, 6 p.m. and Monday, March 3, 4:30 p.m. on the main campus in Springfield for current high school sophomores, juniors and their parents/guardians to learn more about earning college credit while in high school through College Now.

The Feb. 24 session will be held in Kreher Agriculture Center, Room 1115/1117. The March 3 session will be held in Menard Hall, Room 1162 in conjunction with Campus Visit Day.

College Now allows students, who are least 16 years old, in good academic standing and from high schools that are partnering with LLCC, to earn college credit by taking morning or afternoon classes at LLCC during their normal school day. Students can check with their high school counselors to find out if College Now is an option for their high school.

At the information sessions, participants will learn what to expect from a college class, hear a student’s perspective on College Now classes, discover how College Now is different from advanced placement or dual credit courses, get information on how to get started and more.

Registration and more information are available at www.llcc.edu/college-now or by calling 217-786-2582.
