SPRINGFIELD — Dr. Chris McDonald of Rochester, professor of political science at Lincoln Land Community College, was recently honored as a 2023 Dale P. Parnell Distinguished Faculty Award winner by the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) at its annual conference in Denver.

The distinction, named for former AACC President and CEO Dale P. Parnell, recognizes individuals who demonstrate passion for students and the classroom and go above and beyond to ensure that students are successful in their academic endeavors.

Dr. McDonald joined the LLCC faculty in 1998 and is a past recipient of LLCC’s Pearson Master Teacher Award. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Lancaster, England and master’s and doctorate degrees from the University of Georgia.
