Emily Reynolds of Hillsboro is able to schedule a mixture of online and in-person classes to work best for her schedule. She is active in both the LLCC Honors Program, as its secretary, and vice president of scholarship in Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society. For PTK, she led an “Honors in Action” project to encourage organ donations. “Collaborating with the Illinois Life Goes On organization, we held an all-day drive to sign up new organ donors. That evening, we invited an organ donor and her recipient, along with the parents of a deceased organ donor, to speak. It was very fulfilling to know our efforts increased the number of people on the organ donor registry.” She plans to complete an associate in arts degree at LLCC this spring and then transfer to a nursing school. She credits her LLCC professors with having a positive impact on her and her education, in particular Matt Vespa, Becky Croteau, Dr. Claire Gordon, Barb Bernardi, Tim Humphrey, Michael Ramm and Adrienne Range.
